Den Lennie (3s):
G’day, guys! It’s Den here, hope you’re doing well today. Its coming up for the end of the financial year here in Australia. So to speak, we have might and that was not very helpful. I was just trying to see what day it is today and I’m not completely 29th of June. Wow, so 30th of June tomorrow and do the financial year here at, in Australia. And interestingly it’s a halfway through the year for the rest of the world and Australia of course it was just that being the end of financial year, it is a slightly different, a focus here for us. As we wrap up this financial year, we just came off an amazing coaching call with our members.
Den Lennie (43s):
And today we are talking about how to manage a personal budget. We have a template for that, so that you can really get clear on all of your expenses and Sammy, one of our clients said, you know, he’d read somewhere that if you take a, the cost of a cup of coffee a day, which you’re in Australia, but at $4.50 and you put that up every day in two and you know, a fight in an index 500 foot and you know what, I’m an index fund of urine. You have to of top 500 companies on wherever you live and do that in 20 years, it was worth a million bucks and you blew my mind.
Den Lennie (1m 22s):
So if they were talking about tracking, tracking personal expenses and, and really getting clear on what they looked like on, on an annual basis, but also a monthly on a weekly basis and in the second part today’s session, which was a absolutely phenomenal and they were both great. But one of our members ban has just recently shared a has quoting template. And one of the most powerful things about the VBA is the quality of the members that we have. I’ve been threatened to get to a ban on a podcast for some time. And he finally agreed was a bit shy.
Den Lennie (2m 4s):
Mmm. And I want to get him into share some of his journey with a user cause it’s been a phenomenal, but he shared this incredible quoting template with us a few weeks ago. The how of this happened was that one of our members in the states was trying to work out at a particular problem. And while we are on a call, we got discussing an M Ben shared his template and the rest, the grip on a, oh my God, this is incredible. Can you share this with us? And ’cause we foster an environment of abundance. Everyone in the group is really open and shares, you know, really cool stuff like Caleb was shared his set, a start of statement of work’s before that has been really powerful to day. He shared how they are doing that and proposal file and it was really powerful.
Den Lennie (2m 46s):
And that’s what we went through in Brook dome. There’s a quoting, costing template that Ben has shared. And I’ve got to tell you, it is phenomenal. It’s based on in putting all of your costs and then adjusting a margin percentage across the whole thing. And that has been, you know, pretty, quite a phenomenal way to very quickly and put together costings a project and know exactly what your margin is in one of the really cool things about it is that if you need to get a budget into a particular price bracket, like, you know, you’re gonna be a little bit coming in it. So it was 17 Grande, for example, and you need to be 15, this template alleged you to just adjust you’re overall margin in and the click on the most and bring that budget in.
Den Lennie (3m 35s):
And what’s then really cool is you can export this. I can have a big day facing tab. And then there’s a client facing top that you can take that data and put it into something like proposal five, which is just incredible because it just speeds that whole process up. But you knew exactly how much you’re making. And of course they’re adding a production for you on there as well as it. So it’s a, it’s a great way to really promote you no solid business process. And so that’s something that that’s just been released into the group and, and one of the most amazing things that I’m most proud of of the community and it is that it is a community and is that people are so willing to share, you know, on that one, because we had like 12 people in a call today and everyone was sharing their insights to how they do it slightly differently in, so you get this prospective, you know, you get one client who works very much in the agency world and they, they strip down the quarter and keep it a very basic just with prices and other, other clients like full detailed.
Den Lennie (4m 30s):
But what a, what was really great about this approach to courting is that you are able to, you know, have all the information to hand. Then stars is one of our clients set it up. It was great. He came on the call a few weeks ago and he was looking at a job that was going to be about eight and a half thousand dollars. We had a conversation. We ran through this courting process in the job, ended up to $22,000 and the client, they said, yep, no problem. Let’s that send the invoices through. So you know, where people often ask me into, what’s the value of coaching? What’s the value of being in a group like this because it is a paid group, but you know, there’s an investment involved, but it it’s that, you know, you, no one phone call, one member comes with to challenge.
Den Lennie (5m 11s):
Somebody else suggests something within the facility of the environment. We created, people feel very safe to reveal these things. And he goes from an eight and a half thousand dollar project, two, a 200, $2,000 project, one phone call. And that, that is not uncommon on these weekly coaching calls. We, we have, we have a weekly group calls and one is a, an ATM I’m in the morning, you’re in Australia and what it 7:00 PM that makes it kind of like the late call for the UK was like 11:00 PM. But that’s okay because we have a second Cole which works for it to be, you know, if I was like 11:00 PM on Monday or, you know, a 10:00 PM on Tuesday, but in, in the us, depending where you are at anywhere from the three in the afternoon in through to section eight at night.
Den Lennie (5m 55s):
So there’s, there’s two options to jump on calls. And then we just had these incredible and forums were, you know, whenever we went, everyone joins the program that you sign a confidentiality agreement. So people feel like it could be really open and you, no, I just think that’s so incredible that then it sends, we had to say it because that’s my group, but I mean this, like with any kind of ego, it’s like, I’m so proud of the guys in the group because they just, they just saw kind of willing to share. And everyone does well as a result, you know, there’s that expression, a rising tide lifts all ships. And we have this phenomenal environment.
Den Lennie (6m 36s):
I mean, I regard my clients as friends and I, and they don’t say that lightly, you know, we become friends ’cause we, we, we, we spent so much time together now. You know, we, we are very much their to focus on building a business, but it’s done in a way that, you know, when I was growing my business, I felt very alone a am. And I did join a coaching groups. I was the only video guy and I’d always thought I’d get a lots of work, but to them or what that week, but there’s something of it being in an environment where everyone’s sharing the same stuff. You know, the reason I started the VBA, it was because I wanted in an environment that is, that would support me, you know, selfishly I want to create an environment that would be, and very focused on business growth, very focused on mind-set very focused on an abundance and, and moving forward together.
Den Lennie (7m 24s):
And you know, so many of the members have been with me over a year and, and there’s nothing tying them in every month. You know, this is an ongoing monthly program and, and it, so it makes me very proud that, that we have this, this kind of ongoing membership, but a really strong members. And, you know, I’m very proud of every single person in the group. And, and it’s a small enough group that I know everyone pretty well. And so we have these incredible calls every week, which means that, you know, there’s, there’s basically a 110 calls a year that you can jump on and that is M that’s important. You know, it, it’s, it’s important because that, that constant support and that constant accountability drives everyone along.
Den Lennie (8m 11s):
So, yeah, I’m a very, very proud of the group and some of gushing a bit that, cause I just finished my in that financial year, we have had a really strong year despite everything that’s gone on. And I attribute that to, to this simply, this is that about a year ago, I decided to stop kind of, you know, worrying too much about trying to be on a, to B social media platform. I, no, we post content across to the platform because it was my wonderful assistant Melker does that for me, but my focus just became my clients. I just went, how can I help my clients achieve more success? And how can I put all of my energy into that? And that’s what I did. And as a result, our businesses grow in an enormously this year. I’m and we’ve really done that through this podcast, through attracting people who are ready, who are in for the right mindset, where they want to grow, have predictability, have a systemized business and, and be part of the community that helps them to grow and scale and, and have all of a success ever dreamed off.
Den Lennie (9m 10s):
So a very part of that guys and a, yeah, I hope we have an awesome week. Ask yourself, this has owning your own video business in everything that you dreamed it would be when you first got started. It might be hard to admit, but think about whether you’re genuinely achieving everything that you set out two, when you made that decision to grab the camera and go it alone, or you really working less, or you really are earning more. And our, you really in control of chances are you’re bloody good at what you do, but you’re having to watch it like a dog, a 70 plus hours a week, whether its filming, editing, marketing, or any of the other jobs that come with being the big boss of your own video company.
